Special Projects Committee Report: Refugee Crisis
On October 15 , 2022 several clubs supported The Special Projects Committee to bring relief to the refugees who have
th
been sent to New York and are being housed at hotels throughout the five boroughs.
Lions donated clothes, shoes, coats and non-perishable food items that were sorted and arranged for pick up by the
Woman in Need Shelter “WIN” for further distribution. Thanks to the humanitarianism of District 20-K1 Lions and
Leos, eight bags of food, one baby stroller, thirty-one bags of clothes and $300.00 in monetary donations have been
collected. The committee salutes District Governor Ingrid Andrews-Campbell and the club members of the district for
another job well done.
The Special Projects Committee will be hosting another drive on October 29 , 2022 in Brooklyn at St. Therese Parking

Lot from 12:00PM – 3:00PM and the VFW Post 5298 in Queens at October 29 from 10:00AM - 2:00PM.

We will accept clean, gently used clothes.
