Hooiberg Three Bridges (Natural)
Hooiberg can be seen from virtually anywhere on the island. Is the
second highest mountain in Aruba. Hooiberg is 165m (541ft) high
and has 665 concrete steps to the top of the mountain. When taking
this shot I was standing on top of Casibari Rock Formation, about
1.5 kilometer north of the mountain. Hooiberg is a Dutch word and
literally translated into Haystack in English. If you want to keep in
shape you must climb it to the top at least 2 times during your stay Aruba has many formations that have the same shape of a bridge. Just like the one in the
in Aruba. picture. They can be seen if you take a tour into the National Park and some are so danger-
ous to reach that tour companies don’t have them included in their schedule. The day I shot
Lovely Couple Shot this picture, my son and I left our house around 4:30am, picked up two friends and by 5am
we were backpacking into Arikok Park to shoot the sunrise. To reach this location you can
park your car at the “official” Natural Bridge, than walk on the coastline to Andicuri Beach,
continue walking for another 30 minutes and you will be at the “3 bridges” or “Blackstone
Beach” how some call it, because all the stones under the bridge where the sea comes in
are black.
Eagle Beach (Sunset)
Eagle Beach has been rat-
ed the 3rd best beaches
in the world and 2nd in the
Caribbean and sure that is
a big blessing for us here in
Aruba. Miles of long white
sandy beaches and crystal
clear water. But at sunset it
changes in colors and you
can never say which to-
nality it will have, you just
need to be present to see
this natural show. For the
last 20 plus years I’ve been
photographing this magical
beach a lot but not a single
shot is alike because the
Emotion is very contagious and I suggest you to add more emo- sky changes every 7 min-
tion into your vacation pictures. This is a shot from last week, a utes. You can’t leave Aru-

the picture and look for the best background to shoot in front. The
best emotion shots are spontaneous shots. So the one who is tak-
ing the shot must be fully prepared to capture the best moment
at the right time.
