Step 3
Double articulation is the ability of language to organize itself in as many ways as
possible and create countless monemes, which help us form messages that will later
become discourse and it is able to create communication through language.
This is divided in two categories called level 1 and level 2
Level 1: at this level, we will call it, monemes.
Level 2: at this level, we will call it, phonemes.
Example: we have in level 1 of the monemes the word "Obra" that can be divided as
Ob / ra
At level 2 the phonemes, which we make the smallest division, by letters O / b / r / a
Here begins the magnificence of the double articulation, if we combine the same
letters in a different way, a different word can be created, such as the word = (Roba)
which translates as steal or (Rabo) which in some cultures is known as cola or rear.
Another example can be the following
At level 1 monemes we have the following ho / w
At level 2 phonemes we have to make the smallest division h / o / w
By making the link and the correct combination, these elements can translate How =
Como
And in turn, you can also translate Who = Quien
