About the Visiting Nurse
Service of New York
Founded in 1893, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York
(VNSNY) is the largest not-for-profit home- and community-
based health care organization in the United States, serving
the five boroughs of New York City, and Nassau, Suffolk and
Westchester counties.
VNSNY’s Provider Care services include Home Care,
Community Mental Health Services, VNSNY Hospice and
Palliative Care and Partners in Care.
The Visiting Nurse Service of New York is extremely proud
of its 125-year commitment to diversity, serving New Yorkers
of every cultural background in every neighborhood. In
addition to providing specialized expert and compassionate
hospice care to veterans, VNSNY also implements outreach
and support programs with various ethnic and underserved
populations and is the largest home- and community-based
health care organization in the New York metropolitan area
credentialed with SAGECare Platinum-level LGBT cultural
competency.
