children do what they can to prevent the tragedy while taking care to not let Olaf kill Sunny, who he
                     had taken hostage.

                     My Opinion about the Book:
I am confident to tell you that I incredibly enjoyed the book. Snicket makes his readers laugh
and want to continue reading, even in the most terrible situations. For example, he constantly
warns his reader to put down the book because nothing good could possibly come of the orphans’
unfortunate situation. He writes: “It is my sad duty to write down these unpleasant tales, but there
is nothing stopping you from putting this book down at once…” Of course, Snicket’s warnings only
made me even more curious to find out what would become of the siblings in the end.
Part of the book that I like best is definitely the ending. After a lot of suffering Uncle Olaf puts
the children into, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are finally able to escape. While Uncle Olaf is arrested in
jail, someone kind-hearted named Mr. Poe takes the children back to his household until he can
find another guardian for them. It is such a relief to discover that the children’s misfortune finally
                     comes to an end.
Meanwhile, what I like least about the book is when Uncle Olaf threatens to kill Sunny if Klaus
and Violet do not follow his plan. Uncle Olaf is an extremely evil person. I cannot imagine how the
children struggle to be able to free themselves. It is such a totally frustrating and horrible
experience the children have to face.
I will surely recommend this book to my friends. The story is told with occasional explanation of
words, as they are often provided with a twist. Such as, “… money is an incentive – the word
‘incentive’ here means ‘an offered reward to persuade you to do something you don’t want to do.'”
The writing is easy to read, the book not very long, and the personality of the characters is
                     enjoyable to follow.
                                                                  Adapted from https://www.slideshare.net/10y2try/book-report-sample
