Below are questions commonly asked to check one’s readiness leaving their home

               country to pursue their education abroad.
               Discuss these questions with your partners, and make a reflection.




                   1.  What difficulties do you think you might experience  when  living away from  your

                       home country town?

                   2.  How  homesick  will  you  be?
                       How  often  do  you  intend  to

                       phone home to your family and
                       friends?

                   3.  Apart from family and friends,

                       what else do you think you will
                       miss from home?

                   4.  How easily will it be to make friends? Are your new friends more likely to be from

                       your host country or other foreigners like yourself?
                   5.  How easily do you think you adapt to new situations? How independent are you?

                   6.  How  different  do  you  think  the  organization  of  life  on  your  new  campus  will  be

                       compared to your university/campus back home?




               It’s crystal clear that studying abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime experience making people have
               a wonderful opportunity to develop themselves academically and socially. Having all the

               questions discussed leads to an importance of having adequate preparation before studying
               oversea. Among others, good communication skill in English is significantly needed to enable

               them  communicate  with  people  around  them.  Therefore,  this  book  is  intended  to  help

               students who’ll attend university abroad develop their communication skill in English to
               enable them interact well with people at campus using their English.
