At the beginning and/or in the middle of sentence:
We unpacked our luggage and rested for a while at the hotel before going* out for a
city tour.
Before playing* volleyball with the locals, my friends and I surfed at the beach.
After going* back to my hotel room, slept right away due to my fatigue.
After I finished** my breakfast, my tour guide came and informed me that my car
was ready.
*The verb following before and after (directly) should be changed into gerund.
** The verb should not be changed to gerund because the verb is not directly following the
preposition. The subjects of each sentence are different and therefore none should be
omitted.
