I think being a doctor is better than being an
entrepreneur.
Really? I don’t think so. A businessman is

COMPARATIVE FORM
A. Read the comparison between a male and female model.
There is no more obvious gender gap we can find but in the modeling. There are
some considerable differences among them especially in the terms of salary, competition,
and durability.
The first difference is about the salary between the male and female models. It may
be the biggest difference among them. The salary of the female models is relatively much
higher than the males. According to Forbes magazine, the top models of branded products
like the female model of Chanel, Gisele Bundchen earns $ 42 million per year and the male
model of Calvin Klein and Versace, Sean O’Pry only earns $1.2 million per year. The male
models get much lower salary than the female ones. There are some reasons for this. Larry
D. Woodard, the president and CEO of Graham Stanley Advertising and an advertising
columnist for ABC News said that it is because the female models have higher attention than
male models do.
The second difference is about the competition. The competition among the female
models is tighter than the competition among the male ones because women are more
interested in modeling.
The last difference is the durability. The female models do earn higher salary than the
male models. However, the male models are able to stay longer in this industry. The male
models can stay even until their fifties but the female models can only stay until their last
twenties because of the market demands. No matter how glamorous their life is, models
must always do great efforts to survive.
