Imperatives
Imperative is the base form of verb (infinite without “to”) of any verb. We don’t have
to use subject. It is used to give instructions or commands.
We use imperative verbs when we give directions.
Go along this street.
Turn right at the T-junction.
Go down toWashington Street.
Walk pass the market.
Example:
A: Could you tell me how to get to city hall?
B: Go straight. Turn right at the T- junction. It is on the left.
A: Excuse me, do you know the library?
B: Go downto Jackson Street and turn left. The library is on that block.
