                       Imperatives: instructions

We can use imperatives to give instructions (tell people to do something). We start an imperative
sentence with a verb. We do not change the verb form.
                       e. g. Reassure him that help is on the way.
Have him be still and wait for help to arrive.

To make a negative imperative, put do not or don’t before the verb.
                       e. g. Don’t move your dad unless he’s in danger.
                                 Don’t splint any injury.
