KeySmart was founded on the idea that complex problems
often have simple solutions. Our founder, Michael, grew
frustrated with his bulky, noisy key chain. Was a key ring really
the best way to carry keys? For months, he worked on designs
and prototypes for a solution. Then, in 2013, he discreetly
launched a Kickstarter for a compact key organizer called
KeySmart. He never expected it to raise $329,862 and grow
into a company with over 50 products.

2013
KeySmart launches with

Our company is born.
2014
KeySmart sales explode,
allowing us to move into our
first office in Chicago.
2015
With freshly minted retail
packaging, KeySmart begins to
break into national retailers.
2016
KeySmart hits 1,000,000 units
sold! We go global, selling
products in over 190 countries.
2017
We create the world's first
trackable key holder with
Tile™ smart location.

2018
The KeySmart Pro wins the
Retailers’ Choice Award at the
National Hardware Show.
2019
Licensed KeySmarts, a
collection of bags and wallets,
flashlights, and gentleman's
knives all launch in 2019.
2020
A new way to track your stuff is
on the horizon along with more
innovative everyday items.
