Mentoring Role

Mentoring is another method in which the internal audit activity can add value. Mentoring ultimately
aids the entire organization in being proactive when it comes to addressing project risks.
1. A proactive internal audit activity acknowledges that a role in project risk prevention
provides a greater value to the organization verses solely evaluating the project post-
implementation.
2. Internal auditors can focus their expertise and knowledge towards the education of test
design, control development, and general awareness tactics, which enhances the control
process.
