A TAsTe of Turkey in The heArT of AnchorAge
Where family, tradition, and global flavor come together
A Family Story, Shared at the Table
Fur Rondy has always been about gathering—coming together
to celebrate winter, culture and community. That spirit lives inside
Anchorage’s only Turkish Delight, where food becomes a bridge
between two continents and a brother-and-sister team invites
diners to experience the flavors of Turkey through food rooted in
heritage and hospitality.
Run by siblings Engin and Zynep Kilic, who immigrated to the
United States decades ago, the restaurant is both a family venture
and a deeply personal expression of their homeland. What began
as a lifelong love of food and culture has now grown into a rare
culinary experience in Alaska.
From Feeding Minds to Feeding Bellies
Zynep Kilic is an esteemed professor and award-winning
documentarian specializing in food and culture. She likes to joke
that instead of feeding minds, she now feeds bellies. Her academic
background brings a thoughtful approach to the menu, where every
dish carries history and meaning.
Her brother Engin balances that perspective with an adventurous
entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for hospitality. Together, they
transformed their shared love of cooking into a welcoming, family-
run restaurant that adds something truly distinctive to Anchorage’s
food scene.
The Regional Flavors of Turkey
The menu is intentionally authentic and painstakingly handmade,
showcasing the remarkable regional diversity of Turkish cuisine.
