Kode Specialist Competences
They have sound fundamental knowledge of
SSC1 mathematics and the natural sciences with relevance
to the life sciences
SSC2 They have knowledge of the fundamentals of molecular,
cell and organismic biology
They have Acquisition of methodological competence
SSC3 in the life sciences, as well as the ability to apply this in
other contexts. Capability of carrying out independent
scientific work in labs and outdoors, as well as with
regard to handling organisms
SSC4 They have Sound knowledge in at least one special area
of the degree programmes
They have Relevant knowledge of safety and
SSC5 environmental issues as well as the associated legal
fundamentals
SSC6 They have Capability of recognizing and solving subject-
relevant problems
SSC7 They have Capability of solving a scientific problem and
presenting the results thereof
They have Capability of doing literature research, of
SSC8 engaging in scientific discussion; presentation
competence
Social Competences
SSC9 They have Conceptual, analytical and logical thinking
They have Awareness of possible social, ethical and
SSC10 environment- related effects of actions
They have Acquisition of communication skills – also in
SSC11 a foreign language – and ability to appropriately
communicate scientific information to experts and
