Lashings
Lashings are a good solution when you want to bind sticks or twigs together.
They hold objects together, and can be used in many ways. It’s a good idea to
practice lashings before you need to use them “for real.”
There are three different kinds of lashings that are good to know: shear
lashing, square lashing, and diagonal lashing. Start and end the lashings with
a clove hitch (see page 8), as shown in the illustrations below.
On the right, there are some examples of constructions using lashings.
