3. Pull the half knot apart so that it forms two bights; fold these over the
edges of the container.
4. Finally, tighten the rope and tie the loose ends at a suitable length with a
square knot.
5. Now you have an ingenious and simple carrying device that works!
Timber hitch
Use this knot as a “starter knot” when you want to lash something. It can also
be used if you want to drag something heavy.
