The barrel hitch

               The barrel hitch is a knot that you can use to carry something that doesn’t
               have handles. Imagine that you have a container or a can of paint that you
               need to carry.





               1. Begin by drawing the rope under the container. Make sure there is a good

               length of rope on both sides.





               2. Draw the rope up on both sides of the container. Wind the rope around
               itself  over  the  container,  in  a  so-called  half  knot,  just  as  though  you  were
               tying your shoes.
