Heavingline knot
The heaving-line knot is a good knot for when you want to put a stopper on a
line or put weight on the line to be able to throw one of its ends. The knot is
fairly easy to make and also easy to undo.
1. Begin by making a bight in the line.
2. Then wrap the working end once around the bight (one round turn).
3. Continue by wrapping as many round turns (laps) as possible around the
bight. Then stick the working end through the bight and tighten it by holding
onto the round turns while pulling on the standing part. The knot will come
out better if you wrap the round turns at a bit of an angle.
