How to protect the rope end












               There are a few different ways to prevent lines from unraveling. The easiest
               way  is  to  make  an  overhand  knot  or  a  figure-eight  knot;  (see  page  6).
               However, whipping the rope looks nicer.
































               Common whipping






               1. Place a thin yarn or line alongside the rope so that the string makes a loop.
