Remember to moisten the knot with saliva before tightening firmly and
evenly. Pull the knot tight from both directions in a single pull.
Here’s how to tie the blood knot:
Spun lines are rigid and often require particular knots. You need these knots
to tie nylon and spun lines together or to tie spun lines to each other.
The surgeon’s knot can be used to join two lines with the same or different
diameters. It’s especially good for fastening a tippet to a fly line.
Albright knot
The Albright special knot is used to join lines of different diameters and
different materials, for example, a nylon line and spun line.
