Me - NCPS member since the early 1970s, practiced almost 22 years in the VA, 20
of them in San Francisco where I established an emergency room psychiatric ser-
vice and ran inpatient services for over a decade. Held various UCSF faculty posi-
tions, was a funded schizophrenia researcher, and trained residents, psychology
interns, and students. Until retirement worked as medical director of private pro-
grams, including inpatient and outpatient, had a small private office practice, and was a staff psychia-
trist for the Parole Outpatient program of the Department of Corrections. I ended my career working in
the Psychiatric Emergency and Access Clinic programs for Sonoma County Mental Health. My retirement
is devoted to family and all the things (such as photography) that I didn’t have enough time for while
working.
