Pre work Inspection
To Prevent electrical Hazard
• Visually inspect Conductors are properly fixed to insulators, including street light conductors, as a conductor can fall to cross arm making pole alive or fall to the ground when disturbed
• Check for broken earth wires, if found do not attempt to repair, cease work and contact supervisor or relevant supply authority
To Prevent personal Injury/ injury to public
• Ensure traffic control is adequate refer SWMS PCT-002 Working on or near a road or railway
• Look out for loose objects these may include:
1. Loose sapwood
2. Loose streetlights
3. Loose nuts
4. Loose vertical construction 5. Tools left on cross arms
6. Loose pole cap
• Keepallmembersofpublicclearof potential drop zones
• Ifpoleisdeemedtobeunsafeto inspect contact your supervisor.
