Inspecting poles above ground.
Always wear a Hard Hat when working at base of pole.
To Prevent Electrical Hazards
• Bewareofearthcables
If a break is found in the earth wire Do Not touch or attempt to repair, contact supervisor IMMEDIATELY
• Wheninspectingpoles,checkpoleand earth wire are not live with an approved proximity tester
To Prevent personal injury/ injury to public
• Whensoundingpolebewareoffalling objects
• Whende-sapping:
1. Follow correct manual handling
techniques
2. Wear appropriate PPE
3. Always use axe away from body
• Keepallmembersofpublicawayfrom potential fall zones around pole
• WhenhandlingBio-guardorinwet areas Ausplast bandaging always wear PVC gloves.
