Inspecting Pole Belowground
To Prevent Electrical Hazards
If UGOH is evident refer to
SWMS-PI010 – Hand Digging Around Live UG Cables
• Test exposed earth cables with approved proximity tester
• Take care when excavating not to damage earth cables
• Take care when excavating around poles to not damage any underground assets
Stop work and report immediately any damaged/broken earth cables
To prevent pole failure
• Conduct partial excavation and strength assessment drilling
If pole is deemed dangerous contact Ausgrid contracts officer/Emergency number
