Driver’s Daily Log
Every driver that operates a motor vehicle for Foltz Trucking shall complete a daily driver’s log in ac- cordancewithDOTRegulations. Failuretocompletesuchlogs,failuretomakerequiredentries,or failure to preserve logs shall make both driver and the company liable for fines and/or other legal recourse.
OFF-DUTY TIME & MEAL STOPS
On this trip, during any period of driving not exceeding 11 hours, you are authorized to make routine stops for meals or other personal business and log such time as off duty, provided the following conditions exist:
1. Meal stops to be not less than 30 minutes nor longer than 2 hours. Your truck must be legally parked or stationed in a safe place with parking brake set, wheels chocked, switch key removed, and cab locked when not in truck
2. Other off duty stops are authorized for a period not less than 30 minutes or longer than
6 hours at either (a) location authorized or approved by Dispatch; (b) an Interchange Inspection Station; (c) or a safe parking area at origin or destination. Your truck must be legally parked with parking brake set, wheels chocked, switch key removed and cab locked.
During such off-duty time you are relieved of all duty and responsibility for the care and custody ofyourvehicle,itsaccessoriesandanycargo. Duringsuchoffdutytimeyouareatlibertytopursue activities of your own choosing and may leave the premises on which your vehicle is situated.
During any period of driving time not exceeding 11 hours, you may make one or more stops for meals and enter the time thus spent in your log as “Off-duty” time provided however, that when such a stop is made you will ensure that your vehicle is properly parked and stationed in full accordance with Parts 392.20 and 392.21, Motor Carrier Safety Regulations of the Federal Highway Administration.
When meal stops are made during any period of driving, each stop must be of not less than 30 minutes or more than 60 minutes duration; stops of less than 30 minutes to eat a meal are to be logged as “on duty” time.
