During the time you are stopped as provided in paragraph 1 hereof, you will be relieved of all duty and responsibility for the care and custody of your vehicle, its accessories and any lading it may be carrying. Furthermore,throughoutthedurationofsuchstopsyouareatlibertytopursueactivities of your own choosing and you are free to leave the site at which your vehicle is properly parked and stationed.
The above instructions DO NOT apply when you are transporting hazardous materials and dangerous articles that are not described in Part 397 of the Motor Carriers Safety Regulations, and when incidental stops are made for coffee, refueling, or for personal reasons. All such stops must be recorded as “on-duty” on your log if longer than 10 minutes and stops of less than
10 minutes duration must be recorded as “driving time”.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVERS
Drivers must be conversant with state and local safety rules and regulations.
All drivers or others whose duties require them to drive, shall have on their person at all times while on duty, a current motor vehicle operator’s license or chauffeur’s license as required and issued by the state of the driver’s residence.
It is the driver’s responsibility to be familiar with the Department of Transportation Motor Carrier Safety Regulations provided at time of lease and you are expected to read and understand these regulation. Additional copies of the Motor Carrier Regulations can be obtained at the office.
The driver is responsible for the safe, careful and efficient operation of equipment to which they are assigned.
Drivers must comply with company rules & regulation and the proper loading of equipment & freight.
The drivers render prompt and accurate reports required by law and company rules.
Courteous behavior is expected at all times on the highway as well as with customers and clients.
