Usually Azula didn’t come to the palace herself, she would likely send off her high-ranking Kemurikage member to spy for her. Luckily after the whole Kemurikage incident, the royal administrator didn’t ask for the secret passageway to be sealed off. At this point, the Kemurikage practically lives in the palace. It’s been weeks since Azula grew suspicious of Kiyi. Something about her never sat right with Azula. Even though they are practically sisters by blood Azula never feels empathy or even the slightest care for her little sister. Azula doesn't even get how throughout the year Zuko has become very attached to this girl.
ust around a few days ago Azula spied one of Kiyi's secret meetings. It was near the turtle duck ponds in the royal garden. Kiyi sat on the grass next to none other than the traitor herself, Mai. Around last summer Zuko finally mustered the courage to propose to her and surprisingly she accepted, now Mai lives in the royal villa residence just a footstep away from the royal palace.
After all these years Azula still couldn’t believe how her body turned cold the minute Mai betrayed her in the boiling rock. Looking back she should’ve known better to not trust anyone, but can she really expect that. They have been friends since they were little and not once did they speak out about the way Azula behaved, what the sudden change.
