Neige DeAngelis is a senior, and she is playing violin and mandolin in the pit orchestra
for Chicago. Neige has played the violin since age 6. Over the years, she has won several
violin competitions, including the Suburban Symphony Young Soloist
Competition, Lakeland Civic Orchestra Young Artist Competition, Toledo Symphony Young
Artist Competition, and Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition.
She has soloed with the Toledo Symphony and the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra. She will
solo with the WHS Chamber Orchestra at this year’s Music à la Mode. Neige
currently studies under Jung-Min Amy Lee and is assistant concertmaster of the
Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. Neige loves playing music with her friends. One of
her favorite gigs was performing a self-composed Greatest Showman Medley with her
friends at this year’s Green & White Revue. Outside of music, Neige is tennis team
captain and an enthusiastic swimmer and lacrosse player. She is also an avid member of
Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities.
Gavin Ditz is a senior, and is thrilled to be a part of this talented cast. This is his 3rd show
at Westlake. He has also done community and semi-professional theatre work. Gavin is
heavily involved with music at the high school (Chamber Orchestra, Chorale, and Com-
pany D). Gavin is a dance company member at Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School.
His most recent work was being cast in a Netflix Feature Film. Gavin is pursuing a BFA in
Musical Theatre in the Fall. He would like to thank his private
instructors, Benjamin Czarnota (vocal), Christine McBurney (Acting), Paige St. John and
Heather Dennen (Dance) for their guidance and support. He would like to give the biggest
thank you to God. Psalm 28:7
Catherine Essman is a senior at Westlake High School and she is excited to be a part of
Chicago, as it is her first musical. She is also a dancer outside of school, and a WHS De-
monette. The experience of the show is a great addition to her senior year, and she is very
thankful for the opportunity given by the drama department and Mrs. Butler.
Ryan Forshey is senior at Westlake High School and thrilled to be a part of Chicago! This
is Ryan’s first show being a part of the Demon Drama Club. Ryan is in the chorus of the
show. Ryan takes part in several school activities that include some of the following:
soccer, diving, NHS, SADD, Co-President of Company D, Co-Choreographer of Company D,
and best of all he is one of Mrs. Butler’s trusty prop-masters. Ryan is so excited to be a
part of the show for the experience and for the ability to meet new people. Ryan is unsure
on where he will be attending college in the fall but is planning on studying construction
management or civil engineering. I have enjoyed every minute of being a part of the show
and would like to thank Mrs. Butler for never giving up on getting me to join. Ryan would
also like to thank his family for giving up all that they have to let me do what I do. Thank
you and enjoy the show!
Jack Frew This is Jack’s 2nd year playing trombone in the musical pit. Outside of the
musicals he participates in symphonic, Jazz, marching, and pep band, as well as academic
challenge. He was well known for providing fruit snacks to the pit. (And no one else)
Gabriel Khan is a senior at Westlake and is thrilled to be jazzing it up in the pit, playing
tenor and baritone saxophone. Previously, Gabe has played soprano and tenor saxophone
in The Addams Family. Some fond memories are jamming out to the music in the plays,
being surrounded by friends, and not actually setting foot inside of the pit, despite still
being in the pit orchestra for performances. Gabe is thankful for the opportunities he has
been given, and would like to thank his friends and family for helping him along the way.
