We had classes taught by the professors from 9 a.m. to noon.
We studied alone all afternoon and then participated in seminars from 7
p.m. to 10 p.m. After that, we read for another hour or two. It was a six-

I found, taught their classes at Harvard for a couple of days each week
during the normal school year. During the remaining time, they were
consulting in private industry, which provided a constant updating on

Another factor that won my admiration was the personal interest that
these professors showed in each class member. I had never received
such interest from faculty members, with one or two exceptions, in all
my years at the University of Utah. It was a marvelous experience.

Our Cindi had been born with holes between sections of her
heart, so that part of the blood going through her heart bypassed the re-
oxygenating trip through her lungs. Cindi looked and acted normal, but
she lacked endurance in physical activities due to this heart problem.

heart operation then and there. We declined to do so, and took her to see
both Grant and Gord in Berkeley. Both of them advised that she was
progressing normally in her growth and we should wait for any opera-
tion because the surgical techniques and the equipment used in open-
heart operations were then in their developmental stages. They advised
us to wait, but to watch carefully for normal growth and any signs of
        problems.

a few instances of problems we encountered during the time we were in
