A New Easter Hymn for Jubilate

Back in 2023, the hymn and song writing foundation Jubilate
began a new initiative called ‘Journey to Resurrection’. They
were looking for new congregational hymns to cover the
period over Easter – from Christ entering Jerusalem right
through to his resurrection. I was asked to write music for a
hymn written by Martin Leckebusch – ‘See how a woman
shows devotion’. His thought-provoking text takes us through
the people that Christ encounters on his Easter journey.
Some show great faith like the woman who pours expensive
oil on his head while others are hostile against him or fall
away. The hymn ends calling all of us to stay devoted to
Christ as we experience the ups and downs of our own
journey through life.

The ‘Journey to Resurrection’ hymns were recorded in
Summer 2023 and then released for Easter 2024. There is a
link below to all twelve hymns and a link to the lyric video
