Complementary Therapy and Nursing Education:
In order to improve nursing practice of CA, Nurses need to be educated about alternative
therapies and undergo on approved education and training program and be competent to
offer CAT.
Nurses do not attempt to give advice or to undertake CAT for which they have not
received formal education and training. Once trained, they have a duty to keep up to date
with developments within the field of complementary and alternative therapies and their
continuing application (education programs).
Nurses who have developed their knowledge and skills in CAT should act as source of
information for other nurses and link with other practitioners to improve knowledge and
practice.
