MRS TUCKER: A MESSAGE FROM THE TUTOR
I have a first class undergraduate Master’s degree (MChem) in Chemistry from the University of Oxford where I studied at St John’s College; specialising in my final year in the synthesis of novel organometallic complexes and achieving a distinction in a supplementary course in French.
I entered teaching through the Teach First Leadership Development Graduate Programme and therefore my teaching career has been established in London schools, as such, adapting my practice to cater for hugely varying needs has been a particular strength.
I am in the seventh year of my teaching career, during which I have experience teaching the British National KS3 curriculum, GCSE, IGCSE, A level, and IB (including IB Diploma). I spent two years teaching in one of the top sixth form colleges in England, during which, cohorts achieved record results.
I am currently teaching IGCSE (Chemistry and Double Science) and IB Chemistry at a top international school in Dubai, delivering both in-person and online lessons to students of ages 11- 18 with a range of abilities.
As an Oxford aluma and sixth form teacher, I also have experience mentoring students in completion of University personal statements and interview technique.
I have extensive experience mentoring pupils aspiring to pursue an Oxbridge science-related degree. I can provide in- depth training for Oxbridge entry and related admissions tests through a stable tuition programme over the longer term, under the attentive care and co-ordination of the Private Tuition Club.
