The Importance of Intention
Living “with intention” is a popular term in the lexicon of personal growth. Actually “personal growth” is also quite a popular term these days. It’s great to see people interested in the quality of their emotional lives. When people take an interest in becoming the best person they can be they are dedicated to the processes of growing, evolving and self-mastery. Dedication to becoming a better person helps us and it benehits those who interact with us. There are a lot of channels for achieving this. Some people engage the services of therapists, life coaches and other helpers. I have mixed feelings about this. “Helping professionals” who convince their customers that they are sick and need to get “healthy,” do more harm than good. Mental illness is real and treatment for mental illness like clinical anxiety or depression is essential. but improving yourself for the sake of becoming a more evolved, competent and splendid person — that’s a very different and worthwhile effort that you don’t have to be “sick” for.
In order to become a better person, you don’t have to be “sick” hirst — you just need to “desire” it and think about how you might achieve it and how to gain the knowledge you need to reach your personal goals. If you want a better haircut or a different clothing style you don’t have to be sick hirst. You have to take the time and effort to hind a style that makes you feel better about the way you look.
