Human Performance

The process can be described using models that show where the information is

received, where the processing and assessments are carried out and what

                actions are taken.

The purpose of these models is, for example, to analyze a situation in which an

error has been made, to find out whether the error occurred as a result of
perception, as a result of memory failure or due to an incorrect reaction.

By using such models, we will also have an easier time understanding stress and

                how it affects our performance.

The brain sorts, compares and keeps track of previous sensory experiences and

gives information about what to do or how to react to the stimulation.

This is an unconscious process that takes place without us being aware of it and

therefore does not demand our mental capacity in the same way as if we were

in a critical situation and had to make a decision.

Perception is a central concept within flight psychology. To get an overview of

what the concept entails, the figure below can be used.
