                7.6.2    Propeller pressure


                Propeller pressure (or just pressure) is at its highest when the plane is stationary,

                and the engine is at full throttle. As the plane gains speed, the propeller pressure

                decreases.

                Propeller pressure is a static quantity that is not related to time.


                Where the distance to the “power required” curve / drag curve is greatest, we

                find Vx, which is the speed for best climb angle.

                The speed for least drag is where the curve is lowest.


                The speed for best range is the point where the tangent touches the curve. It is

                only in no wind that the tangent is drawn from the intersection of the axes.

                7.7    Engine failure


                If you have an engine failure, there is a certain speed at which the aircraft glides

                the longest distance.




                7.7.1   Best glide distance


                This is referred to as the “best glide speed”. The best glide speed can be found in

                the aircraft manual.


                This  speed  also  depends  on  the  weight  of  the  aircraft.  Since  all  data  in  flight

                manuals is at full weight, remember that the lower the weight, the lower the glide

                speed.
