8.6.4.6 High Voltage Warning

If High Voltage lights up during flight, the generator has been

switched off due to high voltage. This can be remedied by restarting

the generator.

The most common faults for too high voltage are:

- V-belt for generator

- Battery collapsed

- Cable broken

- Carbon brushes worn out

Fortunately, this does not affect the operation of the engine, as the ignition
system for this has its own power supply via the magnets.

8.6.4.7 Voltmeter

Not all aircraft have a voltmeter. If it is in the aircraft, keep

an eye on it.

Here you can see the consumption for the

individual components in a 28 V electrical

system.

If it is a 12 V system, A (amperes) will be

twice as large.

Today, many aircraft are designed with 28 V systems, partly because of lower

losses, and partly because the cables can be dimensioned differently.
