                However, this does not mean that your health on the current flight day is ok.

                Before starting a flight, there are things that must be in order:

                   -  the condition of the aircraft

                   -  the condition of the pilot

                   -  the weather

                and there must be time for preparation.





                We check the aircraft by inspection and checklists, so that we are sure to include

                all points. We call a meteorologist to check the weather before the flight.

                The pilot's condition and preparation cannot be helped by others, but thorough

                preparation goes a long way. You will learn that it takes time to prepare for such

                a task as a flight.




                2.6.1     Pilot condition and preparation


                Planning, alternative plans, risk assessment and other preparation take time. If

                you don't have it, it falls back on yourself and your condition. This can be in the

                form  of  uncertainty,  stress  or  anxiety  if  an  unforeseen  situation  arises.  An

                example of a checklist for the pilot is shown below. The checklist is based on the

                abbreviation "I´M SAFE´E´"

                                           Did I sleep well and feel rested? Have I had a long or

                                           Have I consumed enough fluids and food to maintain stable

                                           blood sugar levels?
                     E       Emotions      Do I feel angry, anxious, or inadequate?
