P. 13
2.1.1 Special airspace, restrictions
When considerations of public safety or military reasons require it, the Minister
of Public Works can decide that access to aviation within certain areas is
restricted or prohibited.
P (Prohibited Area) - Prohibited area
A well-defined airspace over a state's territory or territorial waters within which
flight is prohibited.
If an aircraft enters an area where aviation is prohibited, the aircraft must leave
the area without hesitation and notify the relevant public authority as soon as
possible and, unless the authority gives other instructions, land without delay at
the nearest airfield within the kingdom, if used for flight is open to the public
and where landing is possible.
R (Restricted Area) - Restriction area
A more defined airspace over a state's territory or territorial waters, within
which flight may only take place under certain specified conditions.
If a restricted area is not shown as active by NOTAM, you must fly through it. If
the area is active, permission to fly through it can be requested from the relevant
unit mentioned in BL 7-20.
D (Danger Area) - Danger area
A more closely defined airspace within which, at specified times, activity may
occur which is a danger to aircraft in flight (outside the 3 nautical mile limit).
Prior to any flight that could lead to the passage of a D area, the captain of the
vessel must seek information on whether there is activity at the time in question
that poses a danger to aviation. If such an activity takes place, overflight should
be avoided.
