Tanzania News - Editor’s Note: Life is all about helping one
another – reaching out and fostering friendships! Therefore –
we who share the common heritage of an African birthright –
should respond when others ask us for help. In this case, SWW
is happy to place this letter from Jackson Buzingo – a friend in
Africa who is in turn helping others learn the process of regen-
        erative agriculture.

        Dear Vossie,

I’m Jackson Buzingo, a Tanzanian youth living in Kigoma,
western Tanzania. I work as a Country Representative of ONE
MORE SALARY in Tanzania. ONE MORE SALARY is a non-
profit, NGO, nonpartisan, non-religious, registered in Sweden
in 2017, registration number (org. no. 802508-8470). Also, ONE
MORE SALARY in Tanzania is a sister organization, non-profit,
        non-partisan, non-religious, NGO registered in February 2019
with registration number (org. no.00010114) to operate in Tanza-
nia Mainland. Our vision is to eradicate poverty through promot-
ing social entrepreneurship and income-generating activities in
        developing countries.

I’m a passionate volunteer in agricultural initiatives that have a
positive impact on small farmers’ productivity and doubling of
their income so that they can fight poverty. So far, I have led ONE
MORE SALARY to implement a project known as Farm Managed
Natural Regeneration (FMNR) Project at Kasulu district, Kigoma
region, Tanzania, in two villages that have been devastated by
deforestation due to unfriendly environmental human activities,
        particularly primitive agricultural activities.
The 10-month project has shown positive impact to the small
farmers, we have achieved training 167 small-scale farmers
directly to practice FMNR methods based on environmentally
friendly cultivation. On the other hand, the total number of
households benefited with our project are 480 small-scale farmers.
In the long run, soil fertility restoration and crop production will
be possible as they are keen on developing the learnt methods. The
project was funded by Stiftung Entwicklungs-Zusammenarbeit
Baden-Württemberg (SEZ) a Germany Federation State Public
Donor and International Aid Services (IAS) - Germany.

We are looking for more support from other stakeholders with
ideas and skills to work with.
