Magazine and Website Bits and Bobs –
or Henceforth - M&W Nutz and Boltz…
Yep… as if I don’t already say enough – now I’m starting another page. Why, you may ask? Well…
it’s really to help me with my thought processes and maybe even to lessen confusion. How? OK, let’s
look at it from this angle… the magazine has hit a mini-milestone… a half year of issues. In cricket-
ing terms, we’ve just hit a six! A big, happy six – all because of your help and support. Thanks!
But wait… what is this post in aid of? As mentioned above – to simplify my thought processes. You
see, as you noticed in this month’s editorial piece – I dithered long on the content. However, in the
previous issues, I also dealt with other items in the one piece – therefore I would write and rewrite
the editorial ad-nauseum… and generate more confusion in the process. So, how about we separate
the functions – editorial and magazine/ website news?
Let’s get the ball rolling then. The website needs your support too, please.
• But – I have a confession to make… I’m rather a newbie at WIX website management and
content creation. The website will thus be an ongoing work of learning creation. If you see some-
thing that doesn’t make sense… please drop me a line.
• Also, the website offers a few different options to subscribe to the site and magazine. Please
do so as it will help me create a safe and easy mailing list – then, I can do the odd mail notification.
I stress… safe. Yep, your email address cannot and will not be seen by others.
• As they say in the classics… we have a brand to build, so please help share and spread the
Saffer Worldwide friendship brand!
• The radio… the radio – my pet vice! We are doing a Friday evening show at present and
we’d love to expand the “live” shows – but it only becomes worthwhile if you join us. I know some
have issues with getting the player to work – that is a serious google chrome defect for many –
easily rectified. So, please have a look at the lower right-hand corner of the radio page – click on the
image to open the cheat sheet. I hope it helps.
• One final point about the radio… it costs very little to join the DJ ranks – speak to us…
release your inner rock DJ!
OK… onto the magazine:
• More content is always welcome – one request though, text via Word documents, the
photos must please be forwarded separately. Please help us here – it makes for magazine formatting
mayhem when working with preformatted submissions. Please submit best quality pics – yes, we
understand that mobile phone photography has taken over but…
• We’re still offering free advertising for qualifying participants – on the website too!
• In last month’s magazine, Paul – the Magazine Mechanic – shared his desire to visit Del-
ville Wood later this year, circumstances permitting. Have a look-see at page 19 (May issue) – it’s a
great offer – especially for distance challenged readers with links to SA folk who served in Europe
in both world wars
• Another pet vice of mine – the “Letters to the Editor” page… please interact… I’d love to
hear your thoughts and place your comments in the next issues… it builds friendship!
Finally – the Saffer Worldwide Platform as a whole is apolitical! No, not because I have no beliefs…
on the contrary… especially because I have strong beliefs about many of the ills afflicting this beau-
tiful little ball in the solar system. That’s why I don’t want to stir the pot… all we want here on the
public forum is to build friendship!
Into the sunset I go… but only after saying thanks for helping me make a dream a reality!
