8 Slowly, Slowly, Catch A Monkey
It is a slow process being released from lockdown but gradually it’s
happening. It’s been nice to see the shops slowly opening their doors
once again and glimmers of normality are starting to appear here in the
UK. Mind you, the lockdown doesn’t really affect the MM operations
due to the fact that I am desk bound for the majority of the time.
12 OK, so what’s been happening at the Ivory Tower? Well, we’ve just hit
our half-year anniversary and, from the perspective of the poor soul that
has to fight with the pages each month, it’s getting bigger and bigger I’m
pleased to report. Each month we seem to be gaining new writers and
some great fresh content. Please do keep it up. I will ask though for you
all to share and share again. This mag does need to be read by so many
people. Besides with over 6 billion people on the planet we should never
be short of potential readers.
As for me, I’ve had one heck of a busy month. Apart from my usual
Magazine Mechanic duties, I have gained two more ventures. Firstly,
the start of a new surfing publication for the North East of England
14 called NE Surf. What? Surfing in the North of England? I tell you folks,
the surf here on the North East coast is world class. Every time I head
to the beach to walk our Wolf wannabe, I’m greeted with clean, glassy
conditions just screaming out to be ridden. But the water is so cold? I
hear you say. Not really, to be honest. I’ve been in the water a few times
this year and it is nothing more than typical British sea temperatures.
My second venture is with a little place called the Guitar Studio. A cool
little guitar outlet here in the ‘Pool’. We’re currently designing our own
takes on the famous Stratocaster (No, we’re not re-inventing the wheel).
We will shortly be bringing out the ‘Hank’, the ‘Eric’ and the ‘Buddy’. All
modelled from our favourite axe twangers.
OK, so that’s it for me, enjoy the read and do remember to pop across to
SAFFER FM on Friday evenings with the Guv’nor. Whatever you’re up
20 eases. It’s still lurking out there!
to this month, stay safe and please do be careful as the lockdown further
