Midnight's the hour in the hallway
Toy soldiers on parade
All of them stood to attention
All hoping they make the grade
Grandfather clock is now chiming
Marking the midnight strike
Dolls standing tooting tin whistles
Clowns riding round on push bikes

Toy soldiers stand to attention
March to the sound of the drums
Drummer boy beating the rhythm
Teddies sat rubbing their tums
Building bricks stacking in towers
Pencils and pens line the route
Soldiers advance to their Captain
Offer a gallant salute

About turn forward march now
Tin whistles belting the toots
Ballerinas are dancing
Puss looking round for his boots
Jack in the box sways delighted
Watching the soldiers march past
Spinning tops whirring and buzzing
Drummer boy beating real fast

Soldiers are marching in quick step
Cuddly toys wave their flags
Drummer boy beats in a frenzy
Dogs showing off their tail wags
Hobby horse gallops and prances
Battleships thundering deep
Grandfather clock strikes the hour
Toys run back home now to sleep
