i everyone, I saw Jane’s FB post asking for lyrics/songs based on a
‘love’ theme for this issue, so I gave it some thought. Now, there are a
Hnumber of ways to feel/express love. There is the intimate love between
two people, the love for family and friends, the love for pets, even the love for
a certain sport or a meal/food. But I have decided to write about the love a
person has for where he/she lives (their home).

I lived in my home town of Gateshead in the North East of England for 61
years, in fact since I was born. I now live with my wife Jean in a retirement
village in Seaton Carew near Hartlepool, but Gateshead will always be home
in my heart. So I wrote these lyrics with the simple title ‘Home’.

It is a work in progress as music and melody still need to be added, and my
friend and co songwriter Susanne Waldbrunner will be doing this part of the
song along with the vocals. I will post a link on my Facebook page to the song
upon completion. Hopefully people will be able to identify with the words, as
I always try to strike a chord (pardon the pun) and trigger emotion with the
lyrics I write. I hope you like the words.
