Say
Say A Prayer For Me
I am a Union soldier
I was killed at Gettysburg a
I’m a teenage boy in jail because
my daddy’s just too poor
I’m black and I want to know
How police look at me Prayer
I’m the widow of a man who died
To keep this country free
Say a prayer when you kneel down For
for every state for every town
When the anthem’s played and you drop down on one knee
Please remember, say a prayer for me
I am a little girl in church Me
killed by a coward’s bomb
I’m Navajo and Cree and Sioux
and tribes completely gone
I ‘m a man with five good friends
I lost in Viet Nam
My father fought at Normandy
My uncle at Bataan
Say a prayer when you kneel down
for every state for every town
When the anthem’s played and you drop down on one knee
Please remember, say a prayer for me
Woody said this land
Was made for you and me
I know there’s room for all of us
To live our hopes and dreams
I’ll say a prayer for you
Please say a prayer for me
We’re all in this together
From sea to shining sea
Say a prayer when you kneel down
for every state for every town
When the anthem’s played and you drop down on one knee
Please remember, say a prayer for me
I’ll say a prayer for you
Please say a prayer for me
