Sometimes in life you just don’t see. D
The things you’re coming to,
There’s a time in life you’ll hope and pray,
God don’t take her from you A
But he can’t hear your every prayer, N
Sometimes it don’t go right,
She gave it everything she had,
But couldn’t win the fight C
She was so close to perfect. E
She was like my second skin,
She calmed me in my darkest hours,
Stopped the demons getting in
I’d have given everything i had,
To walk her on the floor, W
And hold her gently in my arms
And dance with her once more I
All these years she walked with me, T
A love that stood the test of time,,
Laughter,sadness and sometimes tears,
Since her heart first bled to mine H
And her light it still shines,
It’s still there every day,
I can see it in the eyes of our kids, H
Even though she went away
Music break E
Hi everyone, i am lyricist and vocalist for British country band ‘4 Owld Codgers’
and we had a write up about one of our songs ‘Southern Born Romeo’ in the last Now at night when the darkness calls, R
issue of this magazine (pages 74/75). I decided to write about a couple of other The tears they come like rain,
songs i have composed the lyrics to which veer away from my normal writing of I lie there and i know she’s gone

country songs. The first song came to me as i thought about what it would be like
if people who had not had it easy in life lived in the same community and hence Sometimes i look up to the sky, O
came up with the lyrics for ‘Desperation Street’ (shown below, the link to the And i know she’s looking down,
completed song is there also). She’s still part of the air i breathe, N
I’ii always love her then till now
So
The second song is a ballad about lost love called ‘Dance With Her Once More’. I She was so close to perfect. C

Please feel free to leave comment on my Facebook page under ‘4 Owld Codgers’. But i will be back with her in the valley of the sun. O
Stay safe everyone. When all my days are over and my earthly life is done,
