        • Myers Briggs is a very well-known typing assessment. It is most known for distinguishing between an
extrovert and an introvert with other dimensions added. This is a test to help understand general strengths
and weaknesses. You can take a free Myers Briggs test that will give you some guidance once your type is
        scored.
        • The Enneagram can be a very powerful typing assessment. It is based on 9 types that identify how you
naturally “fall asleep” in relation to fear (i.e. what are your blindspots). Fear is what typically runs us
(especially at a subconscious level) and I have found knowing what my Enneagram type (9) is has helped me
move from stuck to unstuck (especially when working with my own coach). Here is a free Enneagram
        assessment you can take.
        • Human Design is a very deep and detailed report that basically reflects how you naturally engage in
life. It reflects back how and why life is easiest when are you in alignment with your Human Design type. You
will need to know your birthdate, time, and birthplace for the assessment since it is also influenced by
astrological factors. You might laugh, but I found this to be one of the most accurate typing results I have
taken to date. Here is a link to a free Human Design assessment with report.

What Do I Do With My Results?
“OK. So I know my type. Now what?” Great question! Understanding your strengths and weaknesses based
on the assessments above is just the first step in a journey to be really honest with yourself. It really comes
down to taking the knowledge you gained and having a frank conversation with yourself. Do I really behave
that way? Is this accurate in how I let things get in my way?

The more you unravel about yourself, the more honest your songwriting will become. Many songs that are
truly memorable are when the writer/performer reveals all of themselves. How can you reveal yourself, if you
don’t even know who you are?

I also think it is important to NOT identify with your type. For example, a lot people going through this
process will say things like, “Well, you know I am an INFJ.” Or “Well, that’s ok if I don’t like anger, I am an
Enneagram 9.” I would recommend instead of think of yourself AS a type, that you just recognize how
sometimes you show up like your type and there is always room for growth.
