No. 19 Rutgers field hockey defeats Indiana 3-2 on
last minute goal
Kerrie Burns scored twice to lead the comeback victory

The no. 19 Rutgers field hockey team won in dramatic fashion on Friday late afternoon, defeating Indiana
3-2 on a last-minute goal. The host Scarlet Knights trailed 2-1 as late as midway through the third quarter,
but two goals from Kerrie Burns led RU to victory.
Rutgers scored first, Clayre Smith registered a shot and Kassidy Shetler fired the rebound into the back of the
net just 12 minutes into the game.
Indiana didn’t trail for long and scored twice in a four-minute period to take a 2-1 lead with just under 12
minutes left to play in the first half.
Rutgers tied the game after Milena Redlingshoefer shot from the corner and Burns deflected it into the
back of the net.
