Gianna Glatz Set for USA U-21 Team Tour to
Germany

PISCATAWAY, N.J –Rutgers field hockey goalkeeper Gianna Glatz will participate in international
competition with the Team USA U-21 squad, as the travel roster was finalized for the team's upcoming
tour in Germany. The U-21 team will travel from April 17-24 to Monchengladbach, Germany for a 3
Nations Invitational with Germany's U-21 team and Great Britain's U-21 team, where they will play two
games against each opponent at both the Viersener Tennis and Hockey Club and Warsteiner
HockeyPark. "We are so happy for Gianna and so proud of her," head coach Meredith Civico said.
"She works so hard and is so dedicated to her sport. The fact she will now have chance to represent
her country in competitive matches is a fantastic opportunity. We look forward to cheering on Gianna
and Team USA."
Glatz earned a spot on the U-21 Women's National Team in January following her participation in two
training camps this winter with the U.S. Women's National team and the 2018 Young Women's National
Championship last June. The team met three times over the past two months in preparation for the
international tour.
Glatz was named First Team All-Big Ten and First Team All-Region last season after posting a 13-6 record
as RU's starting goalkeeper. The Medford, N.J. native held a 1.27 goals-against-average, a .785 save
percentage and started in nine shutouts. Glatz led the Big Ten and was fifth in the nation in save
percentage. For her career, the sophomore holds a .722 save percentage and 1.74 goals-against-
average with 161 saves and 12 shutouts through 37 collegiate games. A Psychology major, she was
named Academic All-Big Ten last season.
