Cunningham’s OT Goal Lifts Warriors

WILTON – With time ticking away
in overtime, and the Wilton High
field hockey team’s undefeated
FCIAC record hanging in the
balance, Meg Cunningham stepped
up.

Cunningham scored the game-
winning goal unassisted with 3:27
left in on the over time clock to give
the Warriors a 1-0 victory over
Fairfield Warde on Tuesday at
Fujitani Field.

In goal, Amanda Hendry made
several tough saves and finished with
seven stops.

Wilton’s record is 10-1-0-0 with its
only loss coming to Lakeland/Panas
out of New York State where Megan
was the lone goal scorer in that game
as well.

The Warriors take on Ridgefield on
Thursday.
