On Tuesday, Wilton finished the game with well over 30 shots in total — which is what head coach Deirdre
Hynes was hoping to see.

“At FCIACs, we dominated that (New Canaan) game. We just didn’t get any shots. You can’t score if you don’t
shoot the ball,” said Hynes. “One of our focuses the last five days has been shooting, shooting, shooting, and I
think it paid off. We had nine shots in the first half, which I think is more shots than in four games total. I think
today we finally got shots, and it eventually translated into goals.”

Meg Cunningham led the Warriors with two goals and two assists, with other goals by Bridget Ward, Kristen
Godin, Delaney Baxendale and Olivia Deluca. Jillian Mahon had two assists and Godin had one assist.

Brooke Misbach had 15 saves in goal for Guilford, while Amanda Hendry had one save for the Warriors.
Wilton out-shot Guilford 21-1, and had a 16-0 edge in penalty corners. It was Guilford that had the advantage
over the first five to six minutes of the game, as Wilton came out a little sluggish. Hendry made a save and
kicked away a few other dangerous balls in front of the goal.

The Warriors finally got on track and took a 1-0 lead about eight minutes in when Cunningham dribbled the ball
from about 30 yards out through the defense to get off a shot, with Ward knocking in the rebound. Katherine
Campbell just missed making it 2-0 a few minutes later, as she was stopped in front by Misbach after a nice
setup by Mahon. Right after that, on a penalty corner, Baxendale and Godin executed a pretty exchange of
passes, but Misbach made the save on Baxendale’s shot.

Godin made it 2-0 with 13 minutes left in the first half, dribbling by several defenders and getting a shot past
Misbach. The Guilford goalie, however, stopped shots by Mahon and Cunningham later on, with Maddie Duffy,
Susan Clasby and Caroline Ferro also creating several scoring chances.

Wilton made it 3-0 with 3:50 left in the half, on a well-executed penalty corner, with passes from Cunningham
to Mahon to Godin leading to a shot, and goal, by Baxendale about five yards in front of the cage. Wilton had a
9-1 edge in shots on goal in the first half.

The second half was as one-sided as a game could possibly be, with Wilton getting the ball into the arc
repeatedly — often from the great play on the right side by Ward and Mahon, and in the middle by
Cunningham, Baxendale, Godin and Gwen Hall. The ball almost never crossed midfield, with Meredith
Rappaport, Jess Hendry, Caroline Taverna and Emma Rosen blocking all attempts of Guilford to break out.
